What is Carbon Literacy?
Carbon Literacy is based on the principle that we all have a responsibility to reduce our carbon footprint and take action to mitigate the impacts of climate change.
The training provides an understanding of our actions, the impact of our consumption and lifestyle choices and how we can reduce our carbon footprint.
After the training, attendees will be equipped with the knowledge, skills, and attitudes needed to reduce their carbon footprint and take action on climate change.
The goal is to promote a culture of sustainability and to empower your organisation to take effective action to address climate change.

Who is it for?
Carbon Literacy Training is for anyone who wants to learn more about climate change and the impact you and or your organisation are making on the environment and how you can reduce carbon footprints.
Every attendee will make significant individual and group pledges to reduce their impact on the planet to be certified as Carbon Literate.
Carbon Literacy Training can be delivered in-house for organisations or individuals can join public training sessions.

Two half-day sessions
(requirement for the certification is 8 hours teaching)
Engaging workshops specific to your industry or business.
Learn the science behind climate change.
Understand how to individually and collectively reduce your carbon footprint.
Be able to confidently discuss climate change.
Guidance to create your own significant carbon reduction pledge.

The Carbon Literacy Project is a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO) based in Manchester in the UK.
It is a world-first initiative and aims to empower citizens with Carbon Literacy.
The Carbon Literacy Project is globally unique – there is nothing else quite like it anywhere. It was recognised as such by the UN at COP21, in Paris, where it was awarded as a TAP100, one of 100 worldwide Transformative Action Programs.
